Same Attorney. New Address. Bigger Plans.

Apparently, I announced a relocation with the wording of a farewell speech.

That would explain some of the confusion.

When I said we would be closing the Farmerville office doors, I should have immediately followed that with, “And preparing to open them in Ruston.”

A fairly important second sentence. Somehow, the attorney missed it.

So let me introduce this next chapter properly.

Hampton Law Firm is preparing to relocate from Farmerville to Ruston, and I am excited about what we are building.

A beautiful new office. A more manageable practice. Better organization, more deliberate systems, and a space designed around the way I want to serve my clients going forward.

I have ideas. Quite a few, actually. There are glass walls involved, which means I have already progressed from “let’s find an office” to having strong opinions about things most reasonable people would not lose sleep over.

But this move is about much more than how the office looks.

For a long time, I have wanted to bring more of my work and my life into the same place. I grew up in Ruston. My parents live there. My work as a felony public defender already keeps me in Lincoln Parish regularly.

Ruston is familiar ground. It is also a place where I see opportunity—for my family, for my practice, and for the next version of Hampton Law.

My longer-term plan has been to sell the Farmerville office building, move my family to Ruston, and establish a smaller office there. Recent circumstances moved the timetable forward, but the vision has been taking shape for quite some time.

I want a practice built with intention: a manageable caseload, clear ways to contact us, organized work, and appointments that give clients the time and attention they came for.

I also want to leave the office with enough of myself remaining to enjoy my children.

An ambitious business model, apparently. An attorney who works and occasionally goes home.

My dad started Hampton Law Firm, and I have spent years carrying that work forward. Those years have taught me a great deal about what works, what needs to change, and what I want its future to look like. I intend to put that experience to use.

I know my earlier announcement caused confusion. I also know that, alongside changes in the office, it became part of a larger story about my judgment and stability. That was painful, particularly where it affected my family.

But the decision I am making deserves to be understood on its own terms. There is a plan here, and there are good reasons behind it. I would rather spend the coming weeks showing you what that plan becomes.

For our Farmerville and Union Parish clients, you are very much part of this next chapter.

You helped build this practice. Your trust matters to me, and access to the new office is part of my planning. The intended location is approximately twenty miles down Highway 33—a straightforward trip from Farmerville to Ruston.

My existing commitments remain a priority as we prepare for the move. We will communicate directly with clients about appointments and any changes affecting their matters. Please contact the office with questions about your case so we can address them with you.

At the same time, I am looking forward to becoming more involved in the Ruston and Lincoln Parish community through Hampton Law. I look forward to joining the Chamber of Commerce, meeting fellow business owners, building relationships, and contributing to a community that has been part of my life for years.

I already know Ruston as a daughter, a parent, and an attorney working in its courts. I am excited to become part of its business community in this new way, too.

And yes, I want the office to be beautiful.

There is something exciting about creating a space that feels like where you are headed. A comfortable place for clients to sit down and talk. A professional setting where the work has room to happen. Thoughtful details that make the day a little easier.

I want to walk through the door and feel proud of what we have created.

I want clients to feel welcome when they walk through it, too.

Over the coming days and weeks, I will bring you along as this takes shape. You will see the inspiration, the choices, the preparations, and the progress—from the first ideas to the day we are ready to welcome clients into the new space.

I will clearly identify inspiration pictures as inspiration and share the address and timing once arrangements are finalized.

You may also witness me discover that the furniture I have mentally arranged fits beautifully in an office that exists only in my imagination. We will address that setback when we get there.

During the transition, visits are by appointment. Please call or text before coming by so we can arrange a time to meet.

New inquiries are still welcome by call, text, or through the website. We will consider new matters individually, with limited intake while we focus on existing clients and preparing the new office.

I am excited to share more as the plans become reality.

Farmerville is where my dad began Hampton Law Firm and where I have had the privilege of carrying it forward. I will always be proud of that history, and grateful to the people who have trusted us along the way.

Now I get to take everything I have learned and build its next chapter with a clearer idea of what I want—and what it takes to make it work.

I want my children to see that part, too. The planning. The courage to make a change. The satisfaction of turning an idea into something real.

There is a lot of work between this announcement and opening the new door.

For the first time in a while, I am looking at that work with excitement.

Come along. I want you to see what we’re building.

And if you see me looking at office décor before I have bought packing tape, please mind your business. I have a vision.
